With much anticipation by students and staff, The Advent School’s playground has opened for business. Activities include a multi-use games court, climbing wall, planting beds, stage with over-sized magnetic chalkboards, sand exploration area and the Log Jam climbing feature. The intent of the redesign was to engage the children on a multitude of levels, with activities for social, physical and artistic development.
As is a common requirement for all jobs in Boston, all rainwater had to be held on site. This was accomplished with sub-surface storage containers set below the climbing structure which capture rooftop rainwater; on-site rainwater is captured by direct drainage with through permeable surfacing.
